Presented by Amanda Van Lanen historian
Amanda Van Lanen is a professor of History at Lewis-Clark State College. She received her PhD in Public History from Washington State University in 2009. Her work has been published in Agricultural History and the Journal of the West. Her new book, The Washington Apple: Orchards and the Development of Industrial Agriculture, uses records from the Northern Pacific and Great Northern Railroads to examine the history of the apple industry in Washington. She collects vintage cookbooks and recently started a website (historyreheated.com) to share stories and recipes from her collection.
