Local historian Kathy Meyer will give a talk on the “Great Big Baked Potato,” once served on Northern Pacific Railway’s dining cars. An innovation of the railway that will be celebrated in a new exhibit, these potatoes often weighed five pounds or more and could serve an entire family. This latest installment of the Palouse People lecture series will take place 7-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 18 in the Freight Room of the Pullman Depot Heritage Center located at 330 N.
