Event Description:
Come learn about the Hanford Nuclear Site with historian, Robert Franklin, on Wednesday, July 20th at the Latah County Fairgrounds. He will discuss the pre-history of the site, Manhattan Project era, and Cold War activity, ending with the creation of the Manhattan Project National Historical Park. Franklin will also detail his experiences collecting and caring for the physical history of the Hanford Site for the Department of Energy. This is planned as an outdoor even and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Gates for this event will open at 5:30pm, and the program begins at 6:00pm. Entry is $10 for LCHS members and $12 for the general public. The ticket price includes a guest’s first beer, with additional pours available for purchase. A dinner option will also be for sale. Attendees are encouraged to bring cash or check, but cards will be accepted. This even is generously supported by Hunga Dunga Brewing Company and the Best Western Plus University Inn.
