Position Summary

The Pullman Chamber of Commerce is seeking a creative, organized, and detail-oriented Marketing & Communications Coordinator to lead the Chamber's storytelling, marketing, and public-facing content. This role owns the voice of the Chamber and Visit Pullman brands across digital, print, and social channels - keeping members, visitors, and the community informed and engaged with clear, consistent, and timely messaging. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and content creator who enjoys variety, can manage several concurrent projects and deadlines, and works well collaboratively with a small, close-knit staff.

Reports To: Executive Director

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Content

  • Lead the Chamber's eNewsletter and public-facing events calendar, ensuring content is well-planned, on-brand, and aligned with Chamber objectives.
  • Write and edit external-facing Chamber communications - newsletters, press releases, and web copy - to a consistently professional standard.
  • Identify topics of interest to local businesses and the community, and share timely updates across social media, email, and the website.
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar covering event promotion, community news, and member spotlights - collaborating with the Tourism Promotion Manager and the Office & Membership Coordinator.
  • Create and manage photo, video, and graphic content for use across Chamber and Visit Pullman channels.

Website & Digital Presence

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Tourism Promotions Manager for content, updates, and overall quality of Chamber-related websites, ensuring information stays accurate and current.

Event Promotion & Support

  • Create promotional materials for Chamber events for events including Cabaret, the 4th of July celebration, National Lentil Festival, Holiday Fest, etc.
  • Provide day-of, on-site support for the Chamber's three major Tourism events - the 4th of July celebration, National Lentil Festival, and Holiday Fest - including live social media coverage, photography and video capture, and general event assistance.
  • Assist with Cabaret, the Chamber's own signature event, through creation of promotional materials and on-site coverage. Day-of event support is also required.
  • Collaborate with the Tourism Promotions Manager on messaging for tourism related campaigns, brochures, the Pullman Activities Guide, and other promotional materials, coordinating with any outside marketing or design support as needed.
  • Promote the Chamber's work through press releases and community outreach, serving as a media point of contact as needed.
  • Maintain consistent Chamber and Visit Pullman branding across all materials and channels.

Required Qualifications

  • Education or two-plus years of experience in Marketing, Communications, Media, or Events.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with an eye for translating organizational goals into clear, engaging messaging.
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms, email marketing tools, and basic content design (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud or similar).
  • Comfort with website content management.
  • Proven ability to work productively with a wide variety of people, including co-workers, members, and the public.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and produce consistently positive results.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, poise, and good humor.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively and occasionally outside standard business hours for events.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Understanding of when and how to use different communications tools - web, social media, email, print, and in-person - for maximum impact.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating closely with a small team.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to shift between long-term projects and time-sensitive requests.

Other

  • This position may require occasional attendance at early morning, evening, or weekend Chamber events.
  • Full time; occasional overtime necessary during major events.

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
